My name is Diane McDonald. I have worked for over 30 years in the international development sectors, community and tertiary education sectors. This work has taken me to far flung overseas destinations in Asia, Africa, the Pacific Islands and Latin America and I have spent extended time living in Spain, Italy and Greece. In 2010, a desire to combine my program management skills with my passion for travel led to a career change into the world of small group travel. This includes designing cross cultural, experiential tours in Spain, Portugal and Latin America, such as ‘Camino with a Difference!’ tours along lesser travelled, ancient pilgrim trails in Portugal and Spain to Santiago de Compostela. My focus is to provide opportunities for independent-minded travellers to journey both on and off the beaten track, absorbing local culture and visiting significant historic sites. Camino tours include leisurely paced, flexible walking options, combined with travel by support vehicle. Groups are between 7-14 people, accommodation is in family-run 2-3* hotels and tours provide real and lasting value for money.
In Spain: explore how the rich tapestry of life in modern Spain has been influenced by former civilisations over 3,000 years.
In Portugal & Spain: walk on 1,000 year old pathways via villages where time has stood still, and by vehicle to more distant places of interest.
In South America: immerse yourself in a journey that provides a window into ancient civilisations and contemporary life in Peru and Bolivia and Argentina.
